Blepharoplasty
(Eyelid Surgery) Cost

A Blepharoplasty is an operation performed on the upper and/or lower eyelids to remove excess skin and fat. The procedure involves making incisions that are hidden in the crease region of the upper eyelid and below the lower eyelash line. A Blepharoplasty may be done alone or in combination with other facial rejuvenation procedures, such as a Facelift or Browlift.

Since every patient is different, Dr. Jugenburg must perform a careful analysis of the face and the anatomy around the eyes, including the position of the eyebrows, before he can make any recommendation on a cosmetic solution for a given patient. The fees given below are thus provided as a rough guide only and are dependent on the complexity of each individual case.

Please refer to the main Fees & Financing page for further information on cosmetic surgery fees, payment options, and financing options at the Toronto Cosmetric Surgery Institute.

Upper Blepharoplasty Fees

Surgery on the upper eyelids may involve:
Removal of redundant or excess skin (a typical procedure)
Removal of small amounts of fat
A muscle repair to correct underlying droopiness of the lid margin (known as ptosis)
Procedure fees start from $3500.

Lower Blepharoplasty Fees

Surgery on the lower eyelids typically involves:
Re-suspension of the lower eyelid support layers
Redistribution of fat
Procedure fees start from $4500.

Lower Blepharoplasty Fees

If interested inAsian Blepharoplasty, a cosmetic procedure where the skin around the eyes is reshaped, please arrange a consultation with Dr. Jugenburg to discuss your individual case and the costs that would be incurred.

Blepharoplasty and Health Insurance

In general, cosmetic surgery procedures are not covered by health insurance. However, if recommended by an eye doctor (ophthalmologist), an insurance company may reimburse patients whose visual function is impaired by sagging upper eyelid skin.
